1st Grade Boys Soccer (Fall 2026)

This division is perfect for 1st graders who are ready to continue growing in the game of soccer! Teams will play 7v7 games and come together each week to build individual skills, learn basic tactics, and develop team strategies through a “games approach” to learning in a fun, team-oriented environment.

As part of the inaugural season of the Edwardsville YMCA Junior Cougars Soccer Program in partnership with SIUE Athletics, players will experience the same great YMCA soccer program families know and love with a refreshed look and brand-new athletic jerseys.

Dear Prospective Sponsor,

As the Sports and Recreation Director at the Edwardsville YMCA, one of the most rewarding parts of my role is seeing what can happen when youth sports, local organizations, sponsors, and families all buy into creating something bigger together. Over the last several years, this community has continued to show up in a huge way, helping us grow programs, create opportunities, and reach more kids each year.

Here at the Edwardsville YMCA, our relationship with SIUE Athletics has continued to grow over the past couple of years, especially following the success of our Junior Cougars Basketball and Volleyball programs. We have been working toward bringing that same experience to our largest youth sports program, and we are excited to officially announce that beginning this Fall, our Youth Soccer Program will become the Edwardsville YMCA Junior Cougars Soccer Program.

Last year alone, our soccer program reached right under 2,000 participants across our Fall and Spring seasons and continues to be one of the largest programs in our organization.

With this transition comes a completely new look (see below). Players will move from cotton t-shirts into redesigned 100% polyester jerseys with a sleeker, more athletic feel. Your organization’s logo will also be prominently displayed across the back of team jerseys and seen by thousands of players, families, and spectators throughout both the Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 seasons, along with recognition through our seasonal Soccer Sponsor Days, expanded practice and game day signage, and a dedicated sponsor page on our website. 

With these jersey upgrades, expanded sponsor visibility, continued growth, and increasing operational costs, sponsorship pricing will increase from $200 to $300 beginning this year ($550 for 2 teams and every additional pair of teams). The $200 sponsorship fee remained in place for over 20 years, and this update reflects continued investment into creating an even better experience for players and families. Sponsorship still includes one full team across both soccer seasons and provides nearly a full year of visibility and community impact.

PeeWee Soccer (Fall 2026)

This introductory soccer class is designed just for 3-year-olds and is the perfect way to introduce your child to the game! Each week, participants will explore basic soccer movements, coordination, and foundational skills through fun, engaging activities in a positive and encouraging environment.

As part of the inaugural season of the Edwardsville YMCA Junior Cougars Soccer Program in partnership with SIUE Athletics, even our youngest athletes will get to be part of this exciting new chapter of YMCA Soccer and receive their own Junior Cougars shirt.

Classes are led by the Director of Sports and Recreation along with YMCA Rec Sports staff to ensure every child has a great first soccer experience.

• Schedule: Wednesday evenings
• Class Times: 5:00 – 5:45pm or 6:00 – 6:45pm
• Length: 6-week session
• Dates: September 9th – October 21st (NO Class on September 23rd)
