2nd/3rd Grade Boys

Rocking a new look, the Junior Cougars Youth Basketball League is an instructional league for 2nd through 8th graders looking to improve their basketball skills with an emphasis on fundamentals and equal playing time. Games will be played on Saturday mornings, with one practice per week on a weeknight of the coaches choice.  There are 7 weeks of practices and 6 weeks of games! The Edwardsville YMCA relies on our parents and volunteers to keep its sports leagues available to our community. Please consider coaching your child’s team!

Rookies

Rocking a new look, the Junior Cougars Rookies Program is geared towards Kindergarten and 1st Graders that are new to the sport of basketball!  Each Wednesday night at the Meyer Center, we will have a 45 minute long practice led by experienced staff members introducing the kiddos to skills such as dribbling, passing, and shooting.  Kiddos will use junior sized balls and shoot on 8ft hoops to help instill the skills that they can expand upon in the future.
